Famous & Spang Associates LLC, a property & casualty insurance agency, was founded from humble roots amid a booming produce canning industry. Located between two major rail lines in the Aberdeen, MD area, the canning industry required insurance to protect their product during shipping to Baltimore, Philadelphia, Washington DC and New York. After contracting with multiple top-rated insurance companies, the agency was founded in 1909. Through the years, the agency grew, requiring a move to the current downtown location. The new building was completed in 1960, at the corner of Rogers Street and Bel Air Avenue. From within these walls, three consecutive generations of family have owned and managed the daily operations of one of the oldest insurance agencies in the region.

As was the case at the founding of the business, our primary focus is servicing the personal and commercial insurance needs of clients throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Virginia. Our agents are required to obtain and maintain professional certifications and training that go above and beyond state regulations, so that we may offer our clients the newest and best information available in the insurance marketplace. Additionally, from our years of experience, we have developed important relationships with our carrier partners that allow us access to the best insurance marketplaces.
