As a life member of Level Volunteer Fire Company, I have a deep connection to and am a strong supporter of our first responders and law enforcement.

Over the past few years, we have seen a trend of making our law enforcement professionals scapegoats for the problems in society.  We must end this false narrative and support our law enforcement by assisting with recruitment efforts to ensure we have safe communities.

One of my top priorities is to pass legislation that would gradually increase the Medicaid reimbursement rate for our EMS providers.  For over twenty years, the rate has been stuck at $100 while neighboring states have surpassed us.  Getting this reimbursement rate back on track will help to ensure our volunteer companies are able to continue to provide the high standard in EMS we’ve come to expect in Maryland.
